Many USC students would like to be involved within their own university, but do not know how. Student government is seen by many as an unapproachable entity that orchestrates initiatives that fail to serve all students. It is Michael's plan to change that.

 

Empower.

Michael plans to empower students to take control of their lives on and off campus. He plans to jump start a campus wide partnership with the "It's On Us" campaign to promote sexual assault prevention and awareness.

Since 96% of students move off campus after their freshman year, Michael has also planned the MyOffCampus initiative to provide USC students access to reviews and information about private off-campus housing options in Columbia. This initiative will allow students to know what is at stake before signing a lease, as well as hold the landlords of these surrounding properties accountable.

 

Enrich

Michael would like to enrich the USC student experience through Carolina Kickoff, an on-campus outdoor concert event to celebrate the beginning of SEC conference football play and a new school year. An event that will have something that appeals to every USC student: live music, festivities, and a pep rally to finish the night off and build school spirt.​
